Good News Round Up -- Democrats Fighting Back Notch Wins & Build Momentum!!
John,
Americans of all stripes have stepped up these past few weeks to beat back the Trump-Musk agenda. And in Oklahoma we won key victories at the State Legislature this week.
From the huge hands-off rallies around the nation and right here in Oklahoma, to the record-breaking phone calls to both our nation's and state Capitol, to the no-show town halls being held in Republican districts; it's clear, we outnumber them.
I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the ways that your calls, letters, and demonstrations have had real impacts.
Nationally, the Social Security Administration rejected the DOGE scheme to force seniors to drive for hours to collect their hard-earned benefits.

And here in Oklahoma, our work together beat two bad bills this week because Oklahomans showed up and stood strong,
SB 675, a bill meant to ignore Tribal sovereignty and empower the Turnpike Authority, was voted down unanimously in committee! But keep an eye out here because it looks like Stitt is throwing a hissy fit about this one...
SB 484, the bill to restrict homeless shelters and services from helping Oklahomans throughout the state, failed in committee!
To the many of you I have met at county meetings, to the coffee and chat group in OKC, and to everyone else who had stepped forward to call or write to a legislator, thank you for your work.
Your engagement improved the lives of our neighbors and the state.
And we're keeping up the momentum right here. Trump still wants to close Social Security offices, and the House Republicans are still calling for the gutting of benefits.
So next week former Commissioner of the Social Security Administration Martin O'Malley is holding a Town Hall on how we can all take part in defending Social Security!

If you've been reading these you know I won't mince words about this dire situation. I believe the Trump administration is attempting to drag our country towards an authoritarian system of rule personalized to the prejudices and dysfunctions of one man.
And we are each called to meet this historic moment.
I think that in order to sustain the tremendous effort it will take to save our country, we have to celebrate the good news. Not because the work is done, but because it is just beginning.
I hope you will continue to join us in this fight, and support us as we ramp up our efforts to flip Republican seats in upcoming Special elections and register new Democratic voters to build a bluer Oklahoma. [[link removed]]
