North Carolina: Why Not Just Tie a Brick to Our Ankles and See If We Float?As if the 12-week abortion ban wasn’t bad enough, North Carolina legislators introduced an abortion ban that would make abortion completely illegal unless you are literally about to die. On paper, it's barbaric; in practice, well, same. But credit where credit is due — introducing one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country isn’t an easy competition to win, but damn if NC isn’t about to be crowned King of Misogyny Hill. 

Illinois: WE SEE YOU!
Despite the relentless rigamarole surrounding abortion pill safety that anti-abortion white walkers wield like a cudgel, the Illinois House went into battle like Arya Stark, passing a bill that makes sure the abortion pill stays legal in the state, even if RFK’s FDA reverses its approval! Autocrats may be doing their damndest to ignore science and remove any access to this SUPER SAFE abortion pill, but we love the Land of Lincoln’s pointed “FUCK YOU!” response. Not today, shitheads. Not any day.

Alabama’s Legal Bitch Slap Is One For the Books
The wins feel few and far between these days, but we got TWO this week — and boy oh boy do we love to see Alabama AG Steve Marshall get dragged until his personal tide turns crimson. Marshall has spent the past few years, 24/7/365, trying to criminalize anyone helping pregnant Alabamans travel out of state for abortions. Well, Steve-o was finally smacked down by a federal judge who actually read the Constitution, and turns out it actually protects the right to travel AND speak freely! The absolute cherry on top? Yellowhammer Fund getting back to what they love, and funding their first abortion within an hour of the ruling. Excuse us while we wipe a happy tear from our eye.
