Folks, last week, Donald Trump announced a barrage of new tariffs in a move he dubbed “Liberation Day.”

Trump’s latest tariffs will not ‘liberate’ the American people — they will drive up costs, stifle the growth of jobs and businesses in North Carolina, and threaten a recession.

Trump has proven time and time again that he only cares about profits for the wealthiest Americans.

While he escalates a costly trade war that is causing chaos in our markets, it is ultimately working families who will pay the price with higher taxes on everyday items, including groceries, gas, electronics, cars, and homes.

In North Carolina, our agriculture and manufacturing industries will feel significant pain from this action. Thousands of Americans have already felt that pain by watching their retirement savings disappear in a matter of days.
