In November, voters in North Carolina elected Democrat Allison Riggs to the state Supreme Court. But ever since the election, Republicans have been trying to throw out ballots in order to overturn the election.
On Friday, two Republican judges on the state Court of Appeals ruled that more than 65,000 votes must be recounted and verified. They give voters only 15 days to verify their votes, otherwise their ballot will be thrown out.
This is an outrageous attempt by North Carolina Republicans to ignore the will of the people. It’s yet another attack by the GOP on our elections, and on democracy itself.
Democrats will appeal this ruling and attempt to get justice in the courts. But if this ruling stands, they’ll need help verifying the 65,000 ballots.
