John,
It's no secret that the U.S. has faced its share of border security challenges over the past decade-plus, creating new realities that elicited executive action and require congressional action. However, our current conversation around enforcement is just one piece of the larger puzzle: the American people care deeply about not only border security, but also economic security, community safety, freedom of religion, and building a fair and modern immigration system.
Recent polling has shown that Americans, including self-identified Republicans and Conservatives, remain **steadfast** [link removed] in wanting elected officials to collaborate on updating our laws to not only address safety but also protect long-time immigrant residents. And further polling from **Lifeway Research**
[link removed] shows that evangelical Christians not only want legislation that would secure our borders, but that would also protect the unity of families and scant support among evangelicals for deportation beyond violent criminals.
That's why this week we launched a new campaign titled:
**"Security
**and**..." to shed light on how we don't have to choose between security and all the other values and priorities Americans hold dear.** As part of this effort, we will be releasing new resources and holding webinars with experts across different fields to explore how America can continue to thrive by being both secure and welcoming. Be sure to visit our website and follow us on your preferred social media platforms (**X** [link removed],

We know the American people support solutions that are more well-rounded, improving important parts of the immigration system as they ensure public safety and national security. We hope that by highlighting "Security and . . ." more will adopt this approach. We need Congress to make important reforms to our immigration system that prioritize but also go beyond border security: **protecting longtime community members and their families** [link removed], keeping families together
[link removed] [link removed] , **respecting the dignity of each person** [link removed], **establishing permanent solutions for long-term immigrant residents already here** [link removed], and **supporting the U.S. refugee resettlement program** [link removed].
We can have security
**and** flourishing communities, security
**and** respect for human dignity, security
**and** a thriving economy.
Thank you for your
ongoing support. Stay tuned for more and don't forget to **click here** [link removed] to sign up for more information on the webinars!
