John,

Donald Trump recently issued an unlawful executive order that attacks our democracy — trying to use power he does not have to limit our freedom to vote.

This comes on the heels of Congressional Republicans pushing forward with the SAVE Act — a misleadingly named bill that could prevent millions of Americans from casting their ballots.

These are just the latest moves out of the MAGA Republican playbook to dismantle our democracy and silence the will of the people.

Here at the NDRC, we’re fighting for a democracy where everyone can make their voice heard — with fair maps and fair elections — and we need you with us.

Rush a $30 donation now to help defeat these kinds of anti-democratic attacks and end gerrymandering. [[link removed]]

The SAVE Act is one of the most significant threats to voting rights we’ve seen in decades — and Trump mirrored some of its worst provisions in his executive order.

Under the SAVE Act, every voter would need to show documents like a passport or birth certificate whenever they register to vote or update their voter information.

In effect, that would make it impossible to register to vote online or through the mail.

And millions of Americans couldn’t easily provide the required forms of identification. This would threaten to disproportionately disenfranchise service members, rural Americans, tribal citizens, survivors of natural disasters, working-class voters, and tens of millions of married women who have changed their names.

Even when Republicans had the chance to address these harms while reviewing the bill in committee, they chose to bury their heads in the sand and ignore the clear potential dangers.

MAGA Republicans have shown their true voter-suppressing colors. Now, we must do everything we can to stop their anti-democracy agenda.

Please make a $30 donation today to help power the NDRC’s work nationwide — as we fight to stop gerrymandering, elect our endorsed Democracy Defenders, and expose and prevent threats to free and fair elections. [[link removed]]
