Across the country we’re seeing attacks on DEI. In the government, our public institutions, educational systems, and even in our corporations.
Just because our institutions and systems want to turn their back on DEI because Trump is turning it into a dirty word, doesn’t mean that we will.
Black liberation has always been and will always be our guiding star.
That means calling out corporations like Target for walking back their bare minimum investments in equity.
Chip in now to help us hold Target accountable.

John,
Are we really that surprised by Target’s rollback on DEI?
In 2020, they promised to stand with us, to invest in Black businesses, to do the work. They made those commitments in the wake of George Floyd’s murder when the world was watching and most importantly: when it was good for business. And now they’re walking it all back.
These companies have shown us time and time again that they only care about advancing racial equity when it's convenient.
But this isn’t just about one company. It’s part of a larger, coordinated attack on racial equity led by Donald Trump, and corporations like Target are falling in line with his agenda.
When a company shows you who they are, believe them. And if Target wants to turn their backs on us, we’ll do the same.
Join us and add your name to our petition condemning Target for abandoning its DEI commitments.
They need us more than we need them. Our dollars have power. Black consumers drive billions in spending, and history shows what happens when we take that power seriously.
The Black community has long used economic resistance to demand justice, and we can do it again. Add your name to our petition now to hold Target accountable.
They told us they stood with us. They lied. And if Target or any other business wants our support, they’ll have to earn it.
In solidarity,
Black Lives Matter
Our grassroots movement is pushing for Black liberation every single day. We are striving to create a world where Black people do so much more than just survive. It’s time we thrive.
As an organization one of our biggest hurdles is consistency.
A recurring contribution of anything you can afford goes a long way as we plan for the months, years, and even decades ahead. This is the most effective way for small-dollar donors (like you) to power our Black liberation work.
Will you make a recurring contribution of $5 or more today so that we can keep building momentum for our movement?
