John,

At Emerge New Mexico, we believe that leadership isn’t confined to one title or one lane – it’s a lifelong toolkit. That’s why we don’t just train women and non-binary individuals to run for office — we train them to lead in every aspect of their lives.

Over the next week, we’ll be highlighting some of the incredible future Democratic leaders who are shaping New Mexico by participating in the Class of 2025 Signature Training Program. These folks just completed their first course over the past weekend and will graduate in September equipped with the skills they need to run for office and win next year.

  • Carolina Barrera is a Latina attorney fighting for underrepresented New Mexicans. Her advocacy in and outside the courtroom is fueled by a deep commitment to equity, social justice, and fighting for the underrepresented and underserved.

Carolina Barrera
  • Alicia Gilmore is a proud New Mexico native and a powerhouse businesswoman. As a business owner, realtor, and political activist she brings purpose and precision to every role she plays.

Alicia Gilmore
  • Caroline Zamora, a Chicana from Las Cruces, is the Chief Deputy County Clerk of her county. A proud NMSU Aggie, dog mom, and crochet enthusiast, she brings heart, culture, and commitment to her advocacy for voting rights and comunidad.
