Trump Threatens China With More Tariffs

President Trump on Monday issued a new ultimatum to China to rescind its retaliatory tariffs on the United States, or face additional tariffs of 50 percent beginning Wednesday. The threat came as Wall Street swung wildly, as the NYT reports

America’s trading partners wrestled with responses to U.S. President Donald Trump’s blast of tariff hikes and some planned to send negotiators to Washington, while the head of the European Union’s executive commission offered mutual reduction of tariffs—while warning that retaliation was an option too, as the AP reports.

U.S. and Iran to Hold Direct Nuclear Talks

On Monday, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House, President Trump said the U.S. will hold direct talks with Iran “at almost the highest level,” as the WSJ reports.
