According to reports, Attorney General Pam Bondi plans to roll back ATF’s critical “zero-tolerance” policy, a move that will endanger Americans while bolstering gun lobby profits.

We fear this is only the beginning of President Trump’s rollback of critical, life-saving gun violence prevention policies, and we cannot remain silent while our safety is put at risk:

The ATF’s “Zero Tolerance” policy makes it easier for ATF to revoke a gun dealer’s license if they sell guns to prohibited individuals or fail to run a background check. This policy helped shut down over 600 rogue gun dealers. 

Rolling back this policy will undermine the ATF’s ability to shut down the sources of gun trafficking rings and sends a dangerous message to irresponsible and negligent gun dealers that they have a free pass to break the law.

The only ones who will benefit from this dangerous move are the rogue gun dealers fueling the criminal market and gun manufacturing executives who will get richer from more sales. We cannot remain silent while the Trump Administration continues to protect the gun lobby instead of the American people.
