Dear A.,
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is

on his way to Washington, D.C. , where he will meet with President Trump tomorrow afternoon.
The meeting will focus on "the hostages, the completion of the victory in Gaza, and of course the tariff regime that was also imposed on Israel," the prime minister said today as he departed for the United States.
Last night, the prime minister's office added that the discussion will include "efforts to reach a hostage deal, Israel-Turkey relations, the Iranian threat, and confronting the International Criminal Court."
Netanyahu is the first world leader to meet with President Trump in person since the tariffs were announced last week. “This reflects the special personal connection and the special connection between the United States and Israel, which is so vital at this time,” he said.
Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer will join the trip. He and the prime minister will also meet with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
We will share updates throughout the day tomorrow as the meetings take place. Be sure to

Hamas launches 10-rocket barrage at Israel — most intercepted by Iron Dome, one crashes in Ashkelon
Hamas terrorists launched 10 rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israel just after 9 p.m. tonight, forcing hundreds of thousands of Israelis to rush into bomb shelters.
Most of the rockets were shot down by Iron Dome before they could reach their targets, in the latest example of the remarkable defense shield we lobby for protecting countless Israelis.

Videos circulating on social media showed Iron Dome in action intercepting the incoming rockets.
One rocket evaded Israel's defenses and made impact in Ashkelon, injuring a man in his 30s who was taken to the hospital with shrapnel injuries. Several other people were treated for minor injuries while rushing to bomb shelters.
Hamas is prolonging this war and is trying to kill Israelis. It can end the war today by surrendering and freeing the hostages.
America must stand with Israel as it acts to destroy the threat from Hamas, remove the terror group from power, and free the 59 hostages still being held in captivity.

U.S. sends second THAAD anti-missile system to Israel
The United States has transferred

a second Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system to Israel. This is America's most sophisticated missile defense system, and has been used by Israel to intercept several missiles launched by the Houthis in Yemen.
The THAAD system will complement Israel's multi-tiered missile defense program and will help defend against a prospective Iranian attack.
A THAAD battery can shoot down as many as 72 ballistic missiles and has a near-perfect success rate in testing. America has seven of these systems in its arsenal.

In recovered letter from 2021, Hamas asked Iran for $500 million to destroy Israel
Defense Minister Israel Katz
[link removed]
revealed an intelligence document today showing that Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Muhammad Deif sent a letter to Iran’s IRGC Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani in June 2021, seeking support for the terror group’s plans to invade Israel.
“I am presenting here for the first time a document that was found in the tunnels of senior Hamas officials in Gaza, which proves a direct relationship between Iran and Yahya Sinwar and Muhammad Deif, as part of Iran’s support for the Hamas plan to destroy Israel,” Katz said.
The document shows that Hamas demanded $20 million each month from Iran over two years, “to achieve these great goals, through which we will change the face of the world.”
“We are confident that by the end of these two years, or during them, God willing, we will uproot this monstrous entity, and we will end this dark period in the history of our nation,” the letter reads.

Urban warfare expert John Spencer: 'The lies behind the Gaza casualty figures and the thousands of names removed without explanation'
"The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry recently updated its casualty list, quietly removing thousands of names without explanation," writes urban warfare expert John Spencer in a new analysis.
"Notably, the revised list also dropped over a thousand children listed, sharply altering the previously reported demographic ratios that had been quickly seized upon by critics of Israeli military operations."
"This stark revision — largely overlooked by major media outlets — exemplifies a broader problem: the uncritical acceptance and use of questionable statistics to judge the legality and morality of military operations, most notably in Gaza...the casualty figures most often cited to condemn Israeli actions in Gaza are not just flawed — they are fundamentally unreliable and politically manipulated."
