The climate crisis is here. We have seen deadlier storms and bigger disasters every year displacing entire communities, ripping apart neighborhoods, and forcing families to start all over again.

It truly pains us to see what’s happening – but what makes us angry is when politicians politicize catastrophe. Because in a moment of sheer devastation, Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” is dismantling FEMA and NOAA, leaving you to fend for yourself.

It’s flat-out dangerous. It’s wrong. It’s appalling. And when disaster strikes, communities will be left with little warning and scrambling for help.

It doesn’t matter where you live – a red state, a blue state, a rural town, or an urban center – government programs like FEMA and NOAA were designed to provide emergency disaster relief and give communities a chance at rebuilding after the worst climate catastrophes.

So you may be wondering why DOGE is targeting these programs? It’s about money and power. Trump is slashing climate disaster funding so he can hand out more tax breaks to Big Oil. He’s taking money away from communities trying to survive and giving it to the industries fueling these disasters in the first place.
