The other day, Trump announced that he was raising tariffs by staggering numbers against nearly every country in the whole world. This morning, China announced retaliatory tariffs against us. Today the stock market dropped by 3% (one of the worst days since COVID), and stocks across Europe also fell.

Economists are concerned that this tariff policy and how the world will respond to it will affect jobs here in the US, prices on everything, and could throw us into a global recession.

We aren’t trying to be fearmongers, but this is why our work matters, and this is why we’re fighting so hard to elect Democrats and get a majority in 2026. We need people who are willing to go toe to toe with Trump and hold him accountable for the harm he’s causing Americans.
