John,
Yesterday, Savannah Craven, a pro-life reporter working with Live Action, was physically assaulted by a pro-abortion woman.
Savannah was exercising her First Amendment rights by conducting on-the-street interviews in New York City. She was engaging passersby with a simple question: “Do you know what Planned Parenthood does?”
During one of these conversations, a woman brutally punched her in the face.
A culture that accepts abortion creates a culture of violence.
We must work towards justice, but we also need to pray for healing.
Savannah’s husband, Henry Antao, was filming the interviews and caught the assault on video. You can watch the footage here ([link removed] ) .
Live Action News ([link removed] ) was able to interview Henry, and he said:
“I, Henry Antao, and my wife, Savannah Craven Antao, were out on the street in Harlem doing some street interviews. My wife, Savannah Craven Antao, was assaulted by a pro-abortion woman we were interviewing on the street. The woman became aggressive and violent upon learning Savannah’s pro-life stance. I intervened to protect my wife, and we immediately called 911. The police arrived, and we provided them with the assailant’s photo and description. We hope justice will be served soon. We are pro-life activists because ending abortion and protecting babies from the violence that Planned Parenthood commits is the most important issue of our lifetime.”
Savannah went to the hospital for her injuries, and we are grateful she is safe and receiving support.
Her bravery in the face of violence is heroic, and we are deeply grateful for everything she is doing to protect preborn children and help end abortion in our nation.
No one should ever face physical assault for expressing their views in public.
We will not be intimidated. Live Action will continue our work to defund Planned Parenthood — which kills over 1,000 children every day while receiving more than $700 million in taxpayer funding.
We will not back down until abortion is fully abolished and every child is protected by love and by law.
Please join me in praying for Savannah and the woman who assaulted her.
