Hello John,
Our nonpartisan Native Vote program continues to amaze me! Now that the elections are behind us, we've analyzed voter turnout in key Tribal communities – and the results are extraordinary. On the Menominee reservation, turnout surged by 81 percent compared to 2023. In both Red Cliff and Bad River, it jumped by 63 percent!
What makes this even more remarkable is that, in 2023, we had already seen major increases – 75 percent in Menominee, 130 percent in Red Cliff, and 37 percent in Bad River. That means, since 2019, Menominee voter turnout has soared by an astounding 220 percent!
Wisconsin Conservation Voices’ Native Vote program has been working in Tribal communities during fall elections since 2011. But prior to 2023, we lacked the capacity to run programs in spring elections. Thanks to generous donors – many of you among them – we were able to scale up our program.

We now have a full-time, year-round Native Vote team working in Tribal communities statewide. They’re building relationships, sparking enthusiasm for voting, and ensuring Native Vote [[link removed]] and Wisconsin Conservation Voices [[link removed]] are trusted voices in these communities.
And the results speak for themselves. This surge in turnout proves that our work – educating and engaging voters and tackling unique barriers to voting in Tribal communities, such as reservation addresses missing from state databases – is making a real difference. I couldn’t be prouder of our Native Vote team and the progress they’re making year after year. And I am so grateful to you for supporting this incredible team and making this critical work possible.
Thank you. And let’s keep the momentum going!
Thank you for being a conservation voter,
Kerry Schumann
