[ [link removed] ]Headshot of Mallory McMorrow.
John,
Today, I’m launching my campaign for the U.S. Senate. Point blank, we need
new leaders in Washington who will call out the bullshit.
[ [link removed] ]I’m going to share more about why I’m running. But before I do, if
you’re like me and are done with the BS coming from Washington, please
split a gift between our campaign and State Democrats Committee now.
Now I want to tell you a story. I never thought I’d be in politics. But
after the 2016 election, like a lot of us, I was fed up. Politics should
be about service, not self-interest. And not building up your own power by
tearing others down. So I googled “how to run for office.”
Seriously.
I took on a state Senate race in Michigan no one thought we could win. I
took on an incumbent state Senator who refused to do anything about the
epidemic of gun violence, who sided with corporate polluters over
protecting our clean water, and who didn’t represent us.
Democrats and Republicans counted me out because I was young. Because I
had never run for office before. Because it “wasn’t my turn.” But with the
help of over 500(!) local volunteers, I swung a Republican-held state
Senate seat 20 points and flipped a district that included Mitt Romney’s
hometown. That victory sent me to the Michigan State Senate.
My approach in the Michigan State Senate is the same approach I’ll take in
the U.S. Senate: no bullshit.
Voters know BS. I’ve called BS out in the State Senate and that’s what
I’ll do as U.S. Senator.
Right now, we’re at a crossroads. Donald Trump and Elon Musk are trying to
overwhelm us. That’s their plan; they want us to feel powerless. But we
are not powerless.
The reality is there’s a lot in common between this moment today and that
moment in 2016 when I googled how to run for office. But what that means
is that we know exactly how to rise to this moment.
This is not a moment for weakness. This is the time to put our heads down
and get to work. That’s why I’m running for U.S. Senate. This moment, and
what happens next, is on all of us. I will never try to convince you that
I have all the answers. Just voting for the right person isn’t going to
fix everything. But together, I know we can show Michigan — and the rest
of the country — how powerful we really are. Let’s create the future we
want to see, together.
[ [link removed] ]So please join me in building that future: make a contribution of
whatever you can, split between our campaign and State Democrats Committee
to become a founding donor of my campaign for U.S. Senate.

Thank you,
Mallory
