One of the most powerful Republican pollsters in the country says Cory
Booker's record-breaking, 25-hour speech, "may have changed the course of
political history...He gave Democrats a reason to fight. He gave them a
reason to stand up and say, this is my country too."
Outlets like The Washington Post are reporting his powerful words in space
that would otherwise have been filled with Trump's hate and vitriol:
"John Lewis and so many heroes before us would say that this is the time
to stand up, to speak up. This is the time to get in some good trouble, to
get into necessary trouble. I can’t allow this body to continue without
   doing something different, speaking out."

Cory Booker spoke yesterday for all of us.
He shared the stories of veterans who have lost their jobs. He gave voice
to the millions of people terrified that they – and their children – will
lose their health care and Social Security. Here are a few of the things
   he said:
"I rise tonight because I believe sincerely that our country is in crisis…
These are not normal times in America, and they should not be treated as
   such."
"Social Security is not the government’s money to spend. It’s the
hard-earned savings of working Americans that belongs to Americans. Trump
and Musk need to keep their hands off of money that isn’t theirs to take."
"The Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress are putting profits
over people. They are trying to gut Medicaid and Medicare, programs on
which nearly a third of our country rely –– all to pay for tax cuts to
   billionaires and corporations."
"Have we once held this president to account? The most powerful man in the
world and the richest man in the world have taken a battle axe to the
veterans association, a battle axe to the department of education, a
battle axe to the only agency solely focused on protecting consumers
against big banks and others that might abuse them."
Cory Booker is showing Democrats how to fight back.
