Support Sister District's State Bridges Program and CROSS THE BRIDGE WITH US ON APRIL 26!
Join Sister District DC Metro Area and The Woman's National Democratic Club (WNDC) in supporting the New Virginia Majority Education Fund (NVM EF), a Sister District State Bridges partner this year!
First, join us for a short walk across the Frederick Douglass Bridge on Saturday, April 26, at 11:30 (rain or shine). We will meet at the bottom of the hill in the grassy area near the southeast corner of the bridge.
Then eat pizza! We will end our walk at All Purpose Pizza, where we will celebrate with pizza and a cash bar.
Cost: We suggest a donation of $25, using THIS LINK. The donation will go to New Virginia Majority Education Fund (NVM EF) through Sister District's State Bridges Program. (See more about the State Bridges Program and NVM EF HERE.)

👩⚖️Order in The Court! Victory in Wisconsin!
|
Last night, democracy won in Wisconsin!
Susan Crawford’s victory in the pivotal Wisconsin Supreme Court special election stopped Republicans from seizing the majority — which would have jeopardized voting rights, fair maps, and the future of free elections.
We’re proud of our volunteers and all that our Sister District community did to attain this victory. Through our State Bridges program, we’ve been supporting year-round organizers in Wisconsin for years — helping lay the foundation for moments like this.
Thanks to ALL our volunteers who supported Susan Crawford through donations, phonebanking efforts, and all the other ways that give us a reason to cheer today! 🥂🎉

And you KNOW what that means...it's time for phonebanking to begin! 📞 Get ready to join us in May when we will roll out our phonebanking team. Watch our messages for more information on these efforts.

We're Looking for (Quite) a Few Good Students...

Help us WIN this year! Sister District is gearing up to defend the Democratic majority in Virginia’s General Assembly, while building the foundation for key victories in 2026. That means safeguarding and expanding state majorities, flipping critical seats, and mobilizing voters early to pave the way for midterm success.
Thanks to our amazing team, we celebrated January special-election victories for two VA candidates, ensuring that the House of Delegates and the State Senate remain blue, and positioning Virginia as a stronghold for progress and a xxxxxx against GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin’s regressive policies.
Our DC Metro Area chapter is looking for students to join us in this year's efforts to hold the VA House and ensure that Democrats can win the Governor’s mansion.
Now more than ever, state legislatures serve as a critical firewall against the worst of Trump’s policies — standing up for reproductive rights, fair elections, working families, and the progressive values that define us.
Come and join our family! Contact us at: [email protected],
or better yet, meet us at our Bridge Walk on April 26!

We continue to lean on our tried-and-true methods -- phonebanking, blitzes, in-person fundraisers -- but are looking to boost our donations. Have a unique idea? Wish to host an event? Contact us! We're all 👂 👂👂

Wednesday, April 9: Join us along with Lead Locally on April 9 at 6pm at Never Looked Better for a happy hour to support climate champions in Virginia! We’ll hear from VA Representative Joshua Cole (a two-time Sister District DC alum!) on how these Virginia elections are critical and the steps we can take at the local and state level to resist the Trump administration’s attack on climate legislation.
