Dear Friend,
DC Jobs With Justice strongly condemns the Executive Order stripping over a million federal workers of their union rights. This is a blatant attack on workplace democracy and an attempt to silence workers.
“This administration’s bullying tactics threaten every American who values democracy and free speech,” said AFGE President Everett Kelley. AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler called it “the very definition of union-busting.”
Federal workers—VA nurses, EPA scientists, benefits administrators—have long served under collective bargaining agreements without issue. This order isn’t about security; it’s about control.
But it won’t stop here. Billionaires and corporate elites have been waging a war on workers for decades—funneling money into politics, weakening labor laws, and stacking the courts to strip away rights. Denying collective bargaining for federal workers is just the beginning. Their ultimate goal is to revoke these rights for all workers, leaving everyone at the mercy of unchecked corporate power.
By weakening unions, this administration is undermining government efficiency, opening the door to political abuse, and stripping workers of their right to speak up. When workers lose their rights, democracy itself is at risk.
This fight is not over. DC JWJ stands in full solidarity with AFGE and all federal unions. Workers will not be silenced—we will organize, mobilize, and fight back.
