Asian American Action Fund Endorses Gina Ortiz Jones for San Antonio Mayor
Washington, D.C. - The Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund), a progressive political action committee dedicated to empowering Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in the political process, is proud to announce its endorsement of Gina Ortiz Jones for Mayor of San Antonio.
“Gina Ortiz Jones is a proven public servant, trailblazer, and champion for communities too often left out of the conversation,” said AAAFund National Chair Albert Shen. “From serving as an Air Force intelligence officer to breaking barriers as the first Filipina American to hold a senior Pentagon post, Gina brings the integrity, experience, and courage we need to lead San Antonio into its next chapter.”
Gina previously served as the Under Secretary of the Air Force, where she advanced national security priorities and ensured the well-being of service members and their families. A daughter of an immigrant and a product of San Antonio’s public schools, Gina’s candidacy is rooted in her lived experience and deep commitment to public service. If elected, she would be one of the highest-ranking AAPI municipal leaders in the country and the first Filipina American to serve as Mayor of a major U.S. city.
