14 million gross tons

In 2024, a single Chinese shipbuilder—the China State Shipbuilding Corporation—delivered over 250 ships, adding up to a staggering volume of 14 million gross tons. U.S. shipbuilders produced only 5 ships with a volume of 76,000 gross tons.

As Sudan's civil war approaches the two-year mark, humanitarian conditions in the country continue to worsen with more than 30 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.
