Dear John,
This has been an incredibly tough and painful week for all Americans. We all watched in horror as George Floyd begged for his life and the subsequent outrage that followed. Although we saw people from across the country unite and peacefully protest, we also witnessed chaos, violence and criminal activity throughout our city streets that left neighborhoods in shambles.
As Chairman of the New York State Republican Party during these trying times, I see it as an obligation to take action and do our part to bring positive change to help unite our country. The best way to start this process is by listening, having tough, honest and thoughtful conversations and then by taking action. As part of my commitment and in hopes of learning a little more from each other, I was honored to host a special town hall event on how we can work to combat racism, create unity and bring equality and justice to all New Yorkers.
We were honored to be joined by featured guests Chemung County Executive Chris Moss, former Republican nominee for Attorney General Keith Wofford and co-chair of the NYGOP Public Affairs and Policy Committee John Burnett. This was a first step and we look forward to continuing our work.
If you were unable to join us, please take the time to watch the town hall below.
Sincerely,
