Trump is stepping up his attacks on major law firms that have represented
his opponents or worked on prosecutions against him.
His goal? Force them to fire attorneys who stood up to him, kill their
diversity programs, funnel free legal resources to his allies, and quietly
agree not to challenge him — or lose government contracts, security
clearances, and access to federal buildings.
It's working. Some big firms have already caved under the pressure. The
Washington Post reports that people harmed by Trump’s actions — and
organizations fighting his authoritarian overreach — are already losing
   the legal support they need.
PCCC members like you have put in over a thousand letters and calls to
executives of 3 law firms urging them to fight back. But with another firm
caving to Trump's extortion yesterday and more on the fence, we just upped
our campaign to include nearly 20 of the biggest law firms in the country.
   Here's how you can help:
    1. [ [link removed] ]Call the top executives of major firms Trump has attacked or put on
notice that they could be next. Or, [ [link removed] ]email a letter to them urging
       them to fight back.
    2. Then, [ [link removed] ]call to thank 3 law firms that are fighting back in court
rather than cave in to Trump. Or, [ [link removed] ]email them a thank-you note here.
    3. Then, [ [link removed] ]donate to our work fighting Trump's assaults on democracy –
including the right to legal representation.
The public has unique leverage here. Law firms aren’t used to this kind of
public accountability — which is exactly why it’s powerful.
Within these firms, there are voices calling to do the right thing.
One brave young lawyer, Rachel Cohen, recently resigned in protest from
one of the firms that caved to Trump, telling her bosses, "If being on
this career path demands I accept that my industry—because this is
certainly not unique to this firm—will allow an authoritarian government
to ignore the courts, I refuse to take it any further. As I have said
before, others stand to lose far, far more than a paycheck."
Our work can give those voices an edge in the internal debate over how to
   respond to Trump's bullying.
    1. Please call on these law firms to fight back against Trump's
extortion. [ [link removed] ]Click here for phone numbers and a script or [ [link removed] ]click
here to email a letter to them.
    2. And, thank the law firms that are fighting back instead of caving
in. [ [link removed] ]Click here to call. Or, [ [link removed] ]click here to email them.
    3. Then, [ [link removed] ]donate to our democracy work fighting Trump's fascism.
Thanks for fighting strongly in this moment.
