Insider’s Report: Elon Musk and DOGE Forced to Halt Their SSA Data Breach
Last week, a federal district judge temporarily blocked the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing individuals’ personal data at the Social Security Administration (SSA).
According to U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander’s 137-page
ruling: “The DOGE Team is essentially engaged in a fishing expedition at SSA, in search of a fraud epidemic, based on little more than suspicion. It has launched a search for the proverbial needle in the haystack, without any concrete knowledge that the needle is actually in the haystack.”
According to U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander’s 137-page ruling: “The DOGE Team is essentially engaged in a fishing expedition at SSA, in search of a fraud epidemic, based on little more than suspicion. It has launched a search for the proverbial needle in the haystack, without any concrete knowledge that the needle is actually in the haystack.”
In response, the Acting Social Security Commissioner Leland Dudek, handpicked by billionaire Elon Musk and President Trump, threatened to shut down SSA operations rather than comply with a lawful court order to protect Americans’ most private personal data. The outrageous response demonstrates the Trump Administration’s hostility to seniors.
Dudek’s threat to hold hostage the earned benefits of over 70 million people in order to continue to provide Musk with unfettered and unjustified access to troves of personal Social Security data is inexcusable. He claimed that if DOGE staffers can’t access Americans’ data, neither can anyone else.
In response to Dudek’s threat to shut down SSA, U.S. District Judge Hollander issued a harsh reprimand to the Acting SSA Commissioner which forced him to reverse his stance. But if seniors’ Social Security benefit payments are interrupted for any reason, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who is worth $2-4 billion, doesn’t think seniors will complain about it, unless they’re “fraudsters” …
According to Lutnick: “Anybody who's been in the payment system and the processes, who knows the easiest way to find the fraudster is to stop payments and listen because whoever screams is the one stealing.”
More than 7 million Americans 65 and older receive at least 90 percent of their income from Social Security, based on SSA data. These are people who rely on their monthly benefit checks to cover their rent, their prescription drugs and their grocery bills. Without it these seniors would fall into poverty.
Yet, Elon Musk, DOGE and members of the Trump Administration expect you and millions of other seniors to sit on your hands and keep your mouths shut if a Social Security payment is missed!
Lutnick’s arrogant and callous comments demonstrate a lack of understanding about how important Social Security benefits are to millions of older Americans. It also shows how out of touch the billionaire class is with the majority of Americans.
We cannot let this stand. Please join your fellow senior Americans in sending a powerful message to President Trump that SENIORS WILL NOT BE SILENT as our earned benefits are attacked and held hostage by Elon Musk, DOGE and Trump Administration officials opposed to Social Security.
