The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Look, we’re not going to say Elise Stefanik is a great hire. In fact, we’ll say that like the rest of Trump's cabinet, she’s a terrible hire.

But still, not following through on nominating her for Ambassador to the United Nations is a bit of a surprise. Although it totally makes sense why. Trump is starting to sweat through his undersized suit.

Remember that big bad majority MAGA had in the House? The one that was going to allow Trump to push through his “big, beautiful bill”? The one that saved MAGA Mike from going through three dozen confirmation votes? It’s vaporizing as you read this.

Republicans kicked off the year with a five member advantage. Now, a little over two months in, that advantage is down to one, with four vacated seats. If Stefanik left, that majority wouldn’t exist. Trump didn’t hold her back because he wanted to, he held her back because he had to.

The best news of all is that we have (at least) four chances coming up to take back some seats. These special elections are gonna go down BEFORE the midterms. And while yes, these seats went to Republicans before, we’re thinking it’ll be a bit harder for MAGA to take them again.

In case you haven’t noticed, Republican voters aren’t exactly thrilled with their party right now. In fact, they’re pissed. Need evidence? Look at the town halls going on in red districts. Look at the tens of thousands fired. Look at the veterans getting screwed over. Look at the seniors having trouble getting their Social Security checks. People aren’t happy. And with good reason.

In short, the goal is well within reach. Win all four of these special elections, shrink MAGA’s majority down to just one before we even sniff the midterms. With numbers like that, Trump may accomplish less in this term than he did in his last term, and that’s really saying something.

We can do this, but it’s going to take all of us. Chip in so we can grow the movement and win these elections >>

WIN
