John,
Last week, we announced one of our most ambitious goals in WFP’s history: to recruit more than 1,000 working-class candidates to run for office at every level of government across the country.
Why? Because our billionaire-backed political system isn’t going to change itself. If we want policies that will benefit working families, then we need more people in office who actually come from working-class backgrounds.
So far, more than 1,000 of you have signed up, from almost every state! And we’re just getting started.
Our plan is to provide guidance, training, and resources to elect more working people at every level of government, including local offices that all too often get ignored. But to do that — to truly build a government run by working families, for working families — we need resources too.
And with our first quarterly fundraising deadline of 2025 coming up in just four days, now is a great time to pitch in. If you’re with us, and want to elect more working-class champions to local and federal office, please make a donation now:

For years, our political system has followed the same destructive formula:
First, billionaires and corporations spend mountains of money to try and elect empty-suit politicians in both major parties.
Then, those politicians try to eradicate the social safety net and pillage the working class on their behalf, with the winnings going back to the billionaires.
Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
It’s a sham. But together, we can and WILL elect more leaders who will fight for us instead of the wealthy donor class. And every new leader we elect means more people in positions of power who know what it’s like to work hard day in and day out for a paycheck that doesn’t always pay the bills.
So please, if you can, pitch in before our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline. And help ensure that we have the resources necessary to build up a new generation of working-class champions at all levels of government.
