Friend, on Saturday, Trump issued a memo directing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to threaten sanctions against lawyers and law firms that bring legal challenges against his administration. That could include NILC and our attorneys. This is a direct attack on the rule of law and a threat that should concern us all. It’s part of Trump’s ongoing efforts to silence dissent and weaponize the government against anyone who challenges his administration’s policies — including the vital work we do on behalf of immigrant communities.
