Billionaires are Robbing Us of Our Care.

Dear John,

Envision this future: Families thriving, kids flourishing, parents with affordable child care.
The current reality? Families need $180,000 a year to afford the average national cost of infant child care. Rather than trying to solve this child care crisis, Republican leaders are working to pass a federal budget that advances the Trump administration’s extreme pro-billionaire, anti-family agenda.

Tell Congress: Don’t Rob Us of Our Care

Prioritize women and families, not tax breaks for billionaires.

TAKE ACTION

In every state in the country, care is unaffordable. The gap between the federal minimum wage and what it takes for a family to reasonably afford child care is astronomical. If President Trump and Republican leaders in Congress were truly pro-family, they’d invest in care—not push more tax cuts for billionaires.

Their current plan for the federal budget would rob people of their health care by decimating Medicaid and result in higher costs for child care, groceries, and housing—all to put more money into the hands of billionaires and corporations. Take action now!

Child care access for close to 40,000 children across the country is at risk with the proposed cuts to programs that are used to help families afford child care and provide critical resources to states to help lower the cost of care.

Giving trillions of dollars away to billionaires also means we can’t spend those public dollars on the caregiving investments families really need right now—things like affordable child care and aging and disability care for all, comprehensive paid family and medical leave, and just compensation for care workers.

This is NOT normal, and this is NOT okay. Republican majorities in the House and Senate have passed their own versions of the budget bill, and they are working behind closed doors to negotiate the details of a final package that puts our health care, child care, food, and education at severe risk. We cannot let this happen.

As the cost of caregiving continues to rise, urge Congress to reject budget proposals that would rob us of our care while handing out new tax breaks to billionaires.
