John, in a minute, I'm going to ask you to support my team and I as we have a target on our back this election, [[link removed]] but first — after Donald Trump issued an executive order directing the Head of the Department of Education to begin dismantling the agency last week, I had this to say:
"It's a gut punch to our kids in order to give tax breaks to the very, very rich."

And I meant it. The US Department of Education provides hundreds of millions of dollars in crucial funding to Palm Beach County public schools. By taking this funding away, Donald Trump is ignoring those who will pay the price:
❌ Teachers who will lose their jobs in layoffs
❌ Teachers, and students, whose classrooms will become overcrowded
❌ Students with special needs
❌ Schools with a high percentage of low-income students
John, if Donald Trump succeeds in what is another ploy to benefit his wealthy donors, it'll be a devastating blow to not just schools across the state, but across the country.
My colleagues in the House and I are ready to fight back, but this puts a target on my back in my next election. And let's not forget that some of Trump's wealthiest donors live right here in our district.
