The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ), Water Quality Division (WQD) is seeking additional public comment for Wyoming's Draft 2022/2024 Integrated Report (IR). This comment period is limited to the proposed revised listing decisions for Blair Creek and a segment of the Sweetwater River associated with recreational designated use support in these waterbodies.
Wyoming's Draft 2022/2024 Integrated Report (IR) was available for public review and comment from February 6, 2024, through March 22, 2024. In response to (1) comments received from the public and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and (2) a series of discussions with EPA, the WDEQ/WQD has revised Blair Creek and a 13.7- mile segment of the Sweetwater River (from the confluence of Blair Creek downstream to Lander Creek, located in Fremont County) from Category 3 (available data is insufficient or inconclusive for a use support decision) to Category 5 (available data and information indicates at least one designated use is threatened or impaired) in the draft IR.
Comments on these proposed changes to the Draft 2022/2024 IR will be accepted starting March 25, 2025, to 5:00 p.m. on April 9, 2025. Written comments should be sent to Joanna Harter, Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, 510 Meadowview Drive, Lander, Wyoming, 82520. Electronic comments may be submitted through the WDEQ comment portal provided at http://wq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com.
