This Week on LGBTQ Nation

LGBTQ Nation's Sunday newsletter is moving to a new format to help readers stay informed about LGBTQ+ news. Here are the five stories you need to know from this week.

This week, Donald Trump ordered the Department of Education to shut down after the right attacked it for years for supporting LGBTQ+ students' rights and his administration removed sections on LGBTQ+ people, women, the disabled, and government corruption from an important annual human rights report.

LGBTQ Nation also interviewed out Congresswoman Julie Johnson about resisting the Trump administration, while our John Gallagher called out Democrats for not meeting the moment.

He claims he wants to let states decide their own schools' curriculum. They already do.
He also removed sections on people with disabilities and government corruption.
The first Trump administration set a goal to end the HIV epidemic by 2030. The second Trump administration wants to burn it all down.
A viral video shows a bartender kicking out patrons for wearing MAGA hats. The bar says more happened than appears in the clip.
The law allows police to use facial recognition software to prosecute people who attend Pride.
And here are more good reads for this Sunday.
