As I wrote yesterday, the big news of the week remains Donald Trump’s ongoing attempt to dismantle democracy and the rule of law. He has already neutered the GOP-controlled Congress, and his reign of terror in the executive branch has been well documented.
The only branch of government currently standing up to Trump is the judiciary, where federal judges continue to hand the Department of Justice loss after loss. The administration has experimented with various ways to bring the courts to heel but has had little success so far.
