Email from Rep. McCaul Wildfire Safety Update for Texas-10 My heart goes out to those who lost their loved ones or their homes in the storms and fires that raged across the country this weekend. As wildfires continue to impact various regions of Texas, it’s crucial that all residents remain vigilant and prepared. Recent events, such as the Pauline Road Fire in the Sam Houston National Forest, have led to evacuations and highlighted the importance of wildfire awareness. I am especially grateful to the Texas A&M Forest Service for their tireless work and dedication in protecting our communities and natural resources during this challenging time. To ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones, please follow guidance from Texas Division of Emergency Management and Texas A&M Forest Service. By staying informed and taking proactive measures, we can collectively reduce the risk posed by wildfires. President Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan enabled terrorism to flourish again, with ISIS and its affiliates regrouping in the Khorasan region, plotting against the U.S. and our allies. Thankfully, President Trump’s return to “peace through strength” is re-establishing deterrence, ensuring our adversaries realize this administration means business. Over the weekend, U.S. forces launched a large-scale operation in Yemen against the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, who have attacked U.S. interests in the Middle East and driven up global shipping costs. Under the Biden administration, the Houthis were given a free pass for their violence and destruction. But not anymore. The Trump administration’s precision campaign struck a critical blow to those who threaten regional stability and global security. Additionally, in a major counterterrorism success, a joint U.S.-Iraqi operation took out ISIS’s number two leader, severely weakening the terrorist network’s leadership. This sends a clear message: America will not tolerate those who seek to do us harm. As Chairman Emeritus of the Homeland Security Committee and former Chief of Counterterrorism and National Security in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, I know firsthand that strength is the only language terrorists understand. Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is speaking that language — ensuring our nation and its allies remain secure. Finally Free: American George Glezmann Held by the Taliban Returns Home I’m deeply relieved that George Glezmann is finally coming home after enduring more than two grueling years in Taliban captivity. He was unjustly taken while engaging in humanitarian work abroad. For years, I've fought to ensure the safe return of Americans held by the Taliban regime, and I’m thrilled President Trump has now brought two hostages, George Glezmann and Ryan Corbett, home to their families within the first two months of his administration. Their release is a testament to President Trump’s unwavering commitment to bringing Americans home. I want to thank his team — including Special Envoy Adam Boehler — and Qatari mediators for their crucial role in making this happen. George's return is a powerful reminder that we must never stop fighting for Americans wrongfully detained overseas. Eyes on the Prize: Aggies Advance to Round 2 of March Madness I want to give a big congratulations to the Texas A&M Aggies on their hard-fought 80–71 win over Yale in the first round of March Madness last night! As a proud Aggie fan, it’s always exciting to see our team rise to the occasion on the national stage. With this victory, the Aggies advance to face the University of Michigan in what’s sure to be another great matchup. As the No. 4 seed, I know they’ll continue to make us proud.
