We're two days away from the final FEC deadline of our special election. Before I ask you to make a donation to our campaign today, I hope you will give me a moment to explain why this is so important.

As you may know, after this official deadline, we have to report publicly how much we've raised and from how many people. That last part is really important. The number of people backing our campaign is a sign of our grassroots strength.

Right now, Republicans are spending nearly $5 million on attack ads against us. We need to demonstrate at this deadline that their special interest money is no match for our grassroots team.

That's why we set an ambitious goal for this deadline. Our goal includes not just how much we raise, but also how many people are chipping in.

If we can hit our goal, we'll be in a strong position heading into the final few weeks. But to get there, we need our grassroots team to step up. So I'm asking you, John:
