BREAKING NEWS: President Trump just put millions of students at risk by
signing an executive order that will decimate the Department of Education.
The New York Times reports, "Caught in the middle are the nation’s 50
million public school pupils, 15 percent of whom have disabilities...and
undergraduate students who receive Pell Grants because they qualify as
low-income (nearly one-third of all college students) and those who
receive federal student loans (about 28 percent)."
The PCCC's Save Our School Boards program is now more critical than ever.
School board candidates supported by our Save Our School Boards program
have fended off right-wing extremists, defeated entrenched
ultraconservative incumbents, and flipped purple seats. After hard-fought
victories last cycle, Save Our School Boards candidates represent over
1,863,000 students in 40 school districts.

helps elect pro-public-education school board members in critical races
across the country. Can you chip in? Please donate here.
School boards across the country have blocked right-wing extremists
book-banning attempts, fended off attacks on public education, protected
the rights of trans students, and even developed response plans to protect
students from ICE raids on school property.
BUT when right-wing extremists are elected, school boards often abandon
the needs of students and focus instead on banning books, attacking LGBTQ+
communities, forcing religious instruction, and mandating the teaching of
inaccurate and incomplete history.
In the last election cycle, our Save Our School Boards program supported
over 100 school board members in 29 states. With Trump shuttering the
Department of Education, we are working to support many more
pro-public-education candidates this cycle.
With your help, the Save Our School Boards program provides
pro-public-education candidates with campaign plans, budgets, messaging,
and fundraising strategies to help combat right-wing extremism on school
boards. This cycle we will also provide rapid-response materials to help
them fight back against Trump’s authoritarian overreach.

serve many more pro-public-education candidates this year and next?
Together, lets commit to protecting the education and rights of tens of
thousands more children.
Thanks for being in this fight.
