Day 60

It’s Day 60 of President Trump’s second term. No one has lost their Social Security, Medicare, or veterans’ benefits in spite of constant media and leftist lies.

Praying In The Oval Office With Trump

You may have seen a viral photo this week of me and a dozen colleagues praying in the Oval Office with President Trump. Here’s the backstory.

Yesterday morning, a dozen conservative Christian leaders met in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is part of the White House “campus.” We were there at the invitation of the White House Faith Office. That office, under the leadership of Pastor Paula White-Cain and Faith Director Jenny Korn, has been granted extraordinary access to President Trump and a major role in policy development.

The attendees at the meeting brought dozens of ideas the administration could pursue to promote faith, family, and freedom. I am not able to go into details, but I can tell you that you will be incredibly happy as President Trump rolls out initiatives in the months ahead.

After several hours we were informed that, unexpectedly, the president wanted us to join him in the Oval Office. It was an unusually busy day at the White House. President Trump was dealing with multiple challenges and opportunities.

I was able to wait immediately outside the Oval Office until our larger group was brought from the lobby. During that time, I had multiple opportunities to speak with many of the president’s top staff, including members of the Cabinet.

Eventually, our whole group was shown into the Oval Office. President Trump greeted us enthusiastically. He beamed as we encouraged him to keep “fighting the good fight.” Given the gravity of the many things on his agenda yesterday, I was amazed at the amount of time he spent with us.

The conversation was fascinating. But, most importantly, the chance to pray with him and for him was a great blessing for all of us.

Many thanks to all of you whose continued generous support for American Values and prayers enable me to stay in this arena. Yesterday was a priceless opportunity to come along the side of the president and to encourage him and many of our brothers and sisters in Christ currently serving in the Trump/Vance administration.

A Backwards View

There is a growing drumbeat among the leftist commentariat that President Trump may have defied a district court judge’s order and may defy others, leading to a constitutional crisis.

First of all, President Biden routinely defied court orders. Not just district courts, but the Supreme Court, which ruled against his student loan schemes. None of the people screaming now said a word then.

But it is true that we are facing a crisis over the separation of powers, except it is the exact opposite of what the media are telling you. They have it completely backwards.

The violation here is being committed not by the president, but by district court judges, nearly 700 of them. They are ignoring the boundaries of their districts and issuing nationwide injunctions preventing the president from effectively governing.

So, we have a left-wing judge in Springfield, Illinois, telling the president he can’t do something in California or on the border. That is the real violation of the separation of powers.

A district court judge can’t tell the president what he can or cannot do on matters of foreign policy, national security, the border, or how he can or cannot spend money. If each judge can issue such orders, we may as well abolish the presidency.

So, there is a real crisis. It must be resolved by restoring the balance of power among our three co-equal branches of government. And that must be done by the Supreme Court.

Pray that Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett wake up.
