We are thrilled to have the honor of announcing our first 2025 New American Hero, Georgia State Representative Ruwa Romman! 🎉

Ruwa was born in Jordan and is the granddaughter of Palestinian refugees. When she was only seven, she and her family moved to Georgia. Despite the difficulties she faced when immigrating to a new country, Ruwa used those experiences to become the leader she knew her community needed. As Georgia State Representative for House District 97, she continues to ensure that her constituents are heard and adequately empowered. She also serves as a senior consultant for a professional services management company, where she assists government agencies and other stakeholders by advising, implementing, and developing improved strategies to deal with major local, state, and federal public policy issues.

Ruwa’s courage to lead, as well as her dedication to teaching and empowering others to be champions for their communities, is an inspiring reminder of the power of community. [[link removed]]
