UNHCR partners with MADE51 to to help refugees  and IDPs who have been forced to flee their homes and countries to earn income from their craft by connecting them with global markets and brands.

Dear John,

Eid-al-Fitr – the feast to celebrate the end of Ramadan – is just around the corner. It’s a time when many people exchange gifts to spread joy.

This year, we’d love you to join in this tradition with a meaningful gift from the artisans at MADE51.

MADE51 is an innovative initiative from UNHCR that gives refugees a way to harness their artisan skills, while earning an income. This not only helps people to keep their heritage and traditions alive, despite being forced to flee their homes, but enables them to re-establish their independence. Plus, MADE51 brings beautiful and unique products to the marketplace.

Many of our MADE51 artisans are currently observing Ramadan, and they have even made some special items to celebrate the Muslim holy month.

This heart-warming crocheted Eid garland has been crafted by Syrian refugees living in Türkiye.

During Ramadan it is very common for people to decorate the streets with hanging lanterns. The lanterns represent hope, unity, and light overcoming darkness.

These beautiful, beaded coasters have been crafted by Sudanese and Ethiopian refugees living in South Sudan, along with internally displaced South Sudanese artisans.

The crescent moon pattern signifies both the beginning and the end of fasting during Ramadan.

There’s never been a better time to shop the amazing range of MADE51 products. And, to help make your MADE51 shopping experience even sweeter, we’d like to offer you 20% off of all of your purchases. Just use EID20 at checkout.
