As a pediatrician, I don’t have the privilege to ignore the wreckage that gun violence has on the children in our community.

I joined South Carolina’s Moms Demand Action group to demand lawmakers take action against the leading cause of death among children in South Carolina: gun violence.

This crisis will continue to escalate across the nation if we don’t address this issue head-on. Families and children should not have to live in constant fear of gun violence.
