The same city that gave Chance this award is trying to put him in prison for
life for doing his job.
Dear Friend,
This is a photo of me and my husband, Officer Chance Bretches, on the day
Chance received the Lifesaving Medal With Valor for rescuing a driver from a
crashed car that had caught on fire.

This photo used to be one of my favorites. I was so proud of my husband that
day.
Now looking at it makes me cry.
Because the same city that gave Chance this award is trying to put him in
prisonfor life for doing his job.
That’s why I’m humbly asking you to help me save my husband.

Friend, it wasn’t that long ago that Chance was a decorated police officer
with the Austin, Texas Police Department.
When my husband and his partner were assigned to the Street Narcotics Unit, I
was terrified. After all, they’re the ones who deal with violent drug cartels.
But Chance was brave. He was willing to put his life in danger to keep our
city safe.
Little did we know the biggest threat Chance would face wasn’t a dangerous
drug dealer...
...but a radical, Soros-funded prosecutor.
You see, Chance was called in to help disperse violent protestors during the
violent George Floyd riots in Austin in May 2020.
The police department issued Chance a beanbag launcher because they are
supposed to be effective without causing serious injury.
So, when a rioter hurled rocks at police officers, Chance discharged two bean
bags at him.
Another protestor stepped in front of the rioter at the exact wrong moment and
was struck in the hand.
It was a freak accident – but because a cop fired the non-lethal weapon, it
instantly becomes a felony to a Soros-backed prosecutor.
That radical Soros-funded prosecutor charged my husband with FELONY ASSAULT.
I learned that the prosecutor in this case owes his election to a wad of
campaign cash from none other than radical Leftist billionaire George Soros.
That was when I realized that the anti-cop crowd is trying to make an example
out of my husband. They’ll do everything in their power to make cops pay.
It makes me wonder why anyone would ever sign up to join law enforcement these
days.
But over 13 years ago, my husband did.
Chance put his life on the line to protect his community countless times, and
life behind bars could be his “reward.”
And on top of that, his trial was postponed for a fifth time and pushed back
to start July 7, 2025.
Chance has had this charge hanging over his head for the past FIVE years and
the trial will finally be his opportunity for justice.
But even if my husband’s good name is cleared, there is no way we could hope
to pay the mountain of legal bills.
That’s why I’m so thankful for the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund and
patriots who back the blue.
Jason Johnson and the LELDF board organize and fund the successful legal
defense of good cops wrongly charged for crimes – like my husband.
LELDF helps hire the best attorneys and secure expert witnesses who will
testify to the truth – without being influenced by political paybacks.
You’ve read my email this far so I’m going to ask as boldly as I can:
Will you help by sending a gift to LELDF to help defend my husband and the
other good police officers who have been wrongly accused?

Right now, Chance’s legal team is working day and night to prepare for his
trial that starts on July 7, 2025. They know a good man’s life is at stake.
So with that in mind, please know that any contribution is tax-deductible.
Please make your gift right away if possible.
I can never express how grateful I am to you – in advance – for helping my
husband.
With hope and thanks,
Kimberly Bretches
More such officers who sacrifice so much for will face similar fates unless we
speak out and stand up for the brave men and women in blue. The next time you
