Last night, Semafor news posted a headline that made my blood run cold:1
The story reports that Elon Musk’s team that illegally shuttered USAID and has fired more than a thousand people from the EPA is heading for the Social Security Administration next.
Our Social Security system has paid benefits in full and on time for nearly a century―through wars, depressions, and pandemics. Yet Elon Musk is going to unleash his team of teenagers to dismantle it.
We are fighting back! On Capitol Hill and in the streets, Social Security Works is ringing the alarm. Can you rush a donation to save our Social Security system from Elon Musk?
Musk’s team has already started re-writing the code on computers that issue payments. His apologists in Congress say that the plan is to break everything, and then only rebuild:

Social Security works. Period.
