Remember that thing Trump promised he was gonna do but still hasn't done yet?

No, not release his tax returns.

Nope, not lower grocery prices either.

And no, we’re not talking about ending the Russia/Ukraine war “on day one.”

We’re talking about protecting Social Security. You know, the thing you’ve been contributing to since your very first job? The actual money that was taken out of your paycheck for years so you could have it in retirement?

Maybe you still contribute to it at your current job or maybe you’re at the point where the checks are supporting you. Either way, Trump and Elon, the two billionaires who have never had to worry about retirement for a day in their lives, are coming for that money.

Their reasoning? The same as everything else: baseless claims of fraud. Just like the “stolen” election. Just like the “rigged” court cases. Total and complete BS. This move is going to screw over millions of Americans all for the purpose of saving the amount of money it costs the taxpayers for Trump to play a round of golf.

To be clear, Trump and Elon have no problem with you contributing to Social Security. In fact, they’re still mandating that the money be taken out of your paycheck. They just want to make it incredibly hard for you to ever see that money again. A leaked memo describes a rigorous screening process that will often have to be done in person as opposed to over the phone, and swift denial of your own money if you can’t provide a certain document or something seems off. And remember, this is all to benefit DOGE, so it’s impossible to rule out Elon and his minions bending the truth.

This move could bankrupt seniors. This move could screw you out of the money you've worked a lifetime for. This move is harmful, unnecessary, and again, something Trump promised he wouldn't do. Voters don’t like billionaire government officials coming for their money. Especially in an economy like this. We have to stop this from happening. We have to protect Social Security.
