Dear Friend, |
Chlorpyrifos is a neurotoxic pesticide linked to autism, behavioral disorders like ADHD, and other serious long-term health risks in children. It was banned in 2021 due to overwhelming scientific evidence — but today, the EPA is again deciding whether to allow it to be used on our food. We urge EPA to reinstate the food ban on chlorpyrifos and issue bans on other neurotoxic pesticides that should be out of our food supply for good. |
In a recent executive order, President Trump claims he wants to reduce chemicals in our food supply that contribute to the childhood health crisis. He has tasked the Secretary of Health and Human Services to work with other agencies including the EPA and U.S. Department of Agriculture to identifying ways to curb federal practices that exacerbate the crisis or unsuccessfully curtail it. |
Enforcing our pesticide laws to protect children from chlorpyrifos and other organophosphates is an obvious and urgent necessity. Yet, during its first term, the Trump administration consistently sided with chemical companies to keep these toxic pesticides in our food and water. Organophosphates have been linked to learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and reduced IQ. Banning them from our food supply would prevent countless children from facing lifelong health challenges that can adversely affect their lives and their families. We urge the EPA to uphold its commitment to protecting children by banning pesticides linked to the growing epidemic of learning disabilities and behavioral disorders. |
This is their opportunity to get it right. Send a letter to some of the participating agencies of the Make America Healthy Again Commission and remind them that banning chlorpyrifos — and other pesticides that harm children — is a widely supported, bipartisan action that would make food safer for our children. |

Thank you for standing up for children’s health and safer food,
