In today’s political landscape, working across the aisle makes both sides put a target on your back. We aim to stand up for those with the courage to pursue bipartisan, commonsense solutions.

Party leaders in Washington just unveiled their lists of House members they plan to target in the next election. Both sides have made something clear: If you reach across the aisle and work toward bipartisan solutions, you become a target.

Many of these targeted lawmakers—like Reps. Jared Golden (D-ME), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), Don Bacon (R-NE), and Mike Lawler (R-NY)—are the very people most committed to bipartisan cooperation and effective governance.

These members face attacks from both sides: targeted by the opposing party in general elections, and increasingly by extreme wings of their own parties during primaries.

This is a huge problem for America. Members who build consensus should be rewarded—not punished.
