Prioritize women and families, not tax breaks for billionaires.

Dear John,

Republican leaders in Congress are trying to further enrich their billionaire donors by passing new tax breaks, paid for by decimating Medicaid. Instead of closing tax loopholes and ensuring that billionaires and giant corporations pay their fair share of taxes so we can invest in services that support families, Republican leaders in Congress want to rip health care away from millions—all to benefit the ultra-wealthy.

Tell Congress: Don’t Rob Us of Our Health Care

Prioritize women and families, not tax breaks for billionaires.

TAKE ACTION

Taking away Medicaid will strip away lifesaving health care from one in five people in the United States—including children, mothers, seniors, people in rural communities, and individuals with disabilities. We cannot let this happen.

We all need and deserve health care. Medicaid ensures more than 80 million people can access doctors, treatments, and medications without the risk of major debt or bankruptcy.

Medicaid is crucial for women’s health throughout their entire lifetimes:

  • Women are the majority of adult Medicaid enrollees and receive vital services, including wellness exams, reproductive health care, preventive screenings for cancer, and other physician and hospital services.
  • Mothers and babies rely on Medicaid: Medicaid covers 41% of all births in the United States.
  • Medicaid is also the reason why millions of older women and people with disabilities are able to afford long-term care. Nearly 60% of Medicaid enrollees ages 65 and older are women and Medicaid covers 63% of all nursing home residents.

Don’t let billionaires and big corporations rob women of their health care. The ultra-wealthy do not need more tax breaks, but our country needs Medicaid. Tell Congress to reject budget proposals that would rob us of our health care while providing new tax breaks for billionaires.
