John, we have a problem.
The drastic budget cuts coming out of Washington, D.C to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (NOAA) and the National Weather Service could make all of us less safe.
We sat down together to talk more about what the cuts mean for climate science, public safety, and the ability to ensure we have accurate weather forecasts, especially in these increasingly volatile weather times.

This lean operation works 24/7, 365 days a year, serving all of us with weather system satellites, doppler radars, and all of the forecasting tools used to tell you about the weather.
Critically, this data and science is crucial to predict tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, cold and heat waves. Without that data, forecasts will be less accurate and timely notifications of severe weather can be delayed - that puts lives at risk.
ELPC is out there fighting for sound science and the resources needed to keep the Midwest safe. It will take all of us to stand up and say enough is enough.
Sincerely,
