Trump is asking the Supreme Court to allow him to move forward with his plans to end birthright citizenship. Since his cruel and illegal executive order to end this constitutional right was blocked by lower courts, Trump’s administration is filing emergency appeals to circumvent those rulings. Trump’s efforts to end birthright citizenship are blatantly unconstitutional – even Trump’s hand-picked Supreme Court Justices should be able to see that. But we’ve seen this extremist court upend years of precedent before, and they could do it again. Birthright citizenship is enshrined in our Constitution and it must stay that way.
