Team — the GOP is wreaking havoc and their response to the concerns of the American people? “Call somebody who cares.”

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy then threatened, “It’s USAID today, it’s gonna be the Department of Education tomorrow.” 

It’s clear: Donald Trump and the extreme right are coming after public education. 

Trump's executive orders have put funding at risk for public universities across the country, including the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign right here at home. 

Now, they’re introducing legislation to dismantle the Department of Education. I won't stand by and let them attack our schools, students, and teachers.
