John,
Donald Trump says he’ll “protect” Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, but his record tells a different story.
He already tried to slash billions from these programs in past budgets. Now, his administration is pushing trillions in tax cuts for the ultra-rich, and someone has to pay the bill.
Enter Elon Musk. Trump has empowered his billionaire ally to “reinvent” the government, which means gutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Benefits are on the chopping block and with that comes higher drug prices, cuts to Social Security checks and slashes to Medicaid coverage.
And here’s the worst part: Too many members of Congress are fine with this plan. They say one thing on the campaign trail, then turn around and negotiate cuts behind closed doors to keep their biggest donors happy. It’s time to force them to go on record.
Tell every member of Congress: Take the pledge NO CUTS to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. No backroom deals. No betrayals. No excuses.
The American people have been crystal clear: 92% of voters oppose cutting Social Security. But Trump and Musk don’t care about public opinion, they care about lining the pockets of billionaires.
Congress works for us, not them and it’s time they proved it.
We’ve fought this fight before. Bush tried to privatize Social Security. Ryan and Romney pushed deep cuts. Each time, public outrage stopped them in their tracks. We can do it again, but only if we take action.
We know their tricks. They’ll try to bury these cuts in budget bills, hide them behind technical language, and push them through last-minute deals when no one is watching. That’s why we need to demand an ironclad commitment NOW.
Any member of Congress who won’t sign the pledge is making a choice: They’re siding with Trump and Musk over the American people. Let’s make sure they feel the pressure.
Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are promises, not bargaining chips. Demand Congress take the pledge. No cuts. No betrayals. No excuses.
Let’s make it clear: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are not bargaining chips for billionaires.
