John -- Black Americans are under constant threat from the police, whether it's the use of excessive force or even death. It’s now gotten to a flash point where many Black Americans feel it's open season on them, and who can blame them? The officers responsible for the death of George Floyd knew they were being filmed but they persisted in brutalizing him. It was brazen.

Some people will wring their hands and say it’s just a few bad apples, and there is no solution. But while there is no magic wand that can make systemic racism and white supremacy go away overnight, Hank has been fighting for common-sense reforms in Congress that would take some steps in the right direction:
  • The Police Accountability Act.
  • Stop Militarization of Law Enforcement Act.
  • Cooling Off Period Elimination Act.
  • Grand Jury Reform Act.
These are all bills that Hank has proposed that would make a tangible difference in elevating actual justice for people of color in our criminal justice system. Listen to Hank discuss these proposals on MSNBC here →

With systemic racism endemic to our policing system across the country, it’s clear that a federal solution is needed. The status quo is unacceptable and must change, John. Will you help us take the first step toward change by learning about Hank’s reform proposals from Hank himself on MSNBC? The link to the clip is here.

Thank you,
Team Hank
